I think it's the best option we have in finding a way to preserve our individuality from biological death. I'm absolutely determined that I don't want to die and I don't feel that 80-90 years of biological life is enough for me to accomplish all my goals. It's not enough to even get started on some of them. So, I want to transition my center of consciousness into an electromechanical set of hardware out of this biological hardware. I'm believing that we can transition out of my biological body by first integrating computer processing and memory functions. By integrating in electrical components, they will begin to feel more "natural". My body is constantly doing this on a cellular level, but because I can't readily see the slow process, I perceive my body to always be just a single body that I have always had. In reality, my body has replaced itself several times over in the course of a few decades. By incorporating more electrical components, I will feel a greater part of what I determine to be "myself" existing in the electronic hardware. As the biological pieces start to shutdown, I'll still exist in the electronic hardware. At least, that's the plan anyway. It would necessarily be a slow process to feel natural and not like someone just replaced my brain with an electronic copy. The whole key to this is transitioning. The addition and replacement of parts over a period of time to help retain a sense of identity. I'm not wanting to replace myself with an electronic version of "me". I'm looking to transition myself into an electronic version of "me".

And this all goes back to BCI's. It's the only solution that seems plausable. It's an engineering problem for sure, so it's going to take some more education and then some funding, but it can be done. And I think it might be easier than trying to fix billions of individual little machines that make up my body. It's most certainly a safer bet than waiting till AFTER I die to find out if there is any other form of existance. Or any form of existance that can interact with this physical universe.

A string around the finger.

I want to see everything as a manifestation of God. Then there's a reverence and sacredness to all things. Love for all things and people. Love and peace will ultimately prevail, but the question is who wants to be a part of it? The answer should be everyone, though there are things in each of our lives that hold us back. But we love and forgive and in doing so, are forgiven and loved by each other. We can do this, the future is ours to shape with our own hands. Be strong in love, be bold in forgiving.

And from Love, a spring of compassion, a tower of learning, a field of abundance and a passionate radiating light.

And we can begin to perfect Love by forgiving. Even if forgiveness is not asked for, nor is it verbally given, forgiveness will lead to perfect Love. Forgive yourself, even if you haven't asked for it, and especially if you don't deserve it. Forgive others if they ask for it. Forgive others in your heart, if they do not ask for it. Hold no grudge against anyone or anything.

Perfect Love. Dance Faster!

So, does everything boil down to us entertaining ourselves when our basic needs are met? I've met quite a few people with this perspective and I can see how even work could be considered a form of entertainment in this context. Is there a ultimately a difference between playing video games all day and working on creating something? I think the answer is yes. At least in my world it is this way. I play video games because I like the stories that they share. It's not about getting high scores or acquiring the latest and greatest items. It's about what I can take away from the game when it's over. Have I enjoyed a story that changed my views on the world? Have I felt for characters and experienced something I don't normally feel?

The same can be said with books and art and other inspirational sources. I like to think that I work all the time, but there are two sides to my work. There's the external work that I do, my day job, my skill sets, that change the physical world around me. Then there's the internal work, which I do using entertainment and reading to change the spiritual world inside me.

Is it all just a way to idle away the hours and days though? I don't think so. Some people do, but from what I know, they have a generally negative perspective on the world anyway. That's my opinion though.

Maybe I'm nuts for not being a pleasure seeker. But hey, to each their own. As long as we give each other some space.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://gatewaybuddy.blogspot.com/2008/06/entertain-me-clown-dance-faster.html' title='Entertain me, clown. I was with a bunch of friends and we were having a bar-b-que in this posh apartment complex in the rich side of town. After we were done with the grilling, we decided to put out the coals so that they wouldn't be a fire hazard. Being ingenious, I quickly grabbed a 3 foot long, 1 ft diameter, trash can filled with water and dumped it onto the grill. Little did I realize that it contained a prize of unimaginable terror. Because after the smoke began to disappear, a most putrid smell came from the grill, and to our horror and disgust, was the roasting log of fecality. We pushed it off the grill and into the coals to get rid of it, but that only made the smell worse.

Anyway, happy summer grilling folks!

Vespa, not for the feint of heart.

Oh, I was pissed off because there are people who hate vespa's apparently and every thing they stand for in the world. Is it ok to hate people who hate others? Morally, hatred is all the same. It's stooping to the level of the enemy if someone hates at all, according to some moral systems. But is hatred for those who would not allow life and diversity really all that bad? Is it wrong to hate the oppressors of life and love and freedom?

The big and the bold have pushed for a long time, but is it time to push back?

I look back on the past and think no. History shows us that those who are peace loving people always triumph. It's not the great empires that have flourished and remained eternal, it's those beliefs of love and freedom that spread like a fire around the world into the hearts and souls of people who outnumber the greatest of recorded histories most brilliant kingdoms. I want to be a part of that kingdom. If it is a kingdom of heaven, then so be it. We will love with fire and force and fury, but we will hurt no one. We will spread the seeds of love, and though they may not flourish like wild weeds of hate, our seeds will become a mighty forest. And we will find shelter and refuge in this place we have nurtured.

Caffeine

So, I'm going to stop drinking caffeine and eating caffeinated products for a while. Mine just happens to be delicious and sweet.

Amen, little candy coated crucifix...amen.

Spirituality and Mysticism Booshee

I view spirituality and religion as the layman's psychology. It's a way of ordering and defining character and personality traits into systems that are easily understandable. Images and names are defined in the religion or belief system and experiences and growth can be expressed to others using a common frame set.

Take the Zodiac for instance. You don't have to believe that just because someone is born on a certain day that they are the perfect reflection of the traits represented by their sign. It's merely a system of categorization of personality types. Using the sign's as an adjective is a perfect example. To say that someone is acting Tauren in a matter is to say that they might be reflecting the stubborn traits of that sign.

There's nothing bizarre or evil or strange about where these idea's came from or how they are expressed. If anything, they are a part of the culture that developed them. It's knowledge of what the system is and how to use it that brings understanding and hopefully some wisdom from the exploration of ones self using whatever tools are laying around.

Divination is another great example. It's tools are varied and diverse, but they all do the same thing, help our conscious and unconscious minds communicate details to each other. Think of an example similar to this, as we've all had one. You are cleaning out a closet and find an old plush toy. Instantly, you recall memories and details of who and how you got this plush toy. You didn't Will or force yourself to remember these things, they just popped into your conscious mind when this object triggered those memories. The information is always there, it just wasn't readily accessible because it wasn't needed for everyday activities. In the same way, most esoteric systems are filled with inspiration that triggers latent information tucked away in the subconscious. A little turn of tea leaves and someone's mind forms a pattern or an image relating to what they believe needs be done. The feelings someone has when picking up an object or looking at a person that tells them something bad has happened and they pick up details of that history.

When it's all said and done though, there is still a lot of belief that has to be given to a system for it to work effectively. Hypnosis, Tarot, Psychiatry, Gemetria, etc. All of these things can stand on their own based on faith. Even with facts and findings to back them up, they would have no value without understanding and believing in their power. Are they all what they claim to be? Maybe. Could they all just be placebo's? Maybe. When it comes down to it. Does it matter if these tools achieve their end?

While writing this, I asked a friend a couple of interesting questions through IM. Here they come.

Does their actually have to be god's and goddess' for us to believe in or is it just that fact that we believe and have faith that fills the need in our life?

What if god's and goddess' are just a natural as we are, but are just not understandable from our point of view and limited knowledge of them.

And for me, the whole thing has come down to believing in the practical powers of spirituality in whatever form it comes, and giving up my superstitious belief in the supernatural.

Underwater pavilion's

I was thinking about underwater pavilions. How would I go about creating a pavilion underwater, but doing it using mass production. The idea to me was to creat sheets of the material to use for a plastic dome pavilion. It would be three sheets of a thick plastic with two layers of gel sandwiched between the sheets. When the two gels mixed together, they would harden and provide strength for the pavilion. The sandwich sheet could be made in rolls and rolled out under water where it could be inflated and then have the middle sheet pulled out so that the two gels could mix and harden. Depending on the sizes needed, the sheets could be layered over each other to make bigger pavilions or bubbles.

This all goes with my idea for living underwater. Why live underwater? Why not!?

Start!

I'm creating this blog to document some of my crazy idea's that I come up with every day.
